Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid is highly dielectric both in a liquid, and in a gaseous state.
For the descriptions of the dielectric properties of the clean agent in its gaseous state, the
method of comparison with nitrogen (N2) was used.
Compared to N2, the assumed value of which is 1.0 (non-dimensional value), the relative dielectric strength of 3M Novec 1230 at 250°C and other clean agents is described in the 2000 edition of NFPA 2001.
